Why hold a seminar in Arles?
Arles has cultural assets in abundance. Its Roman and Romanesque monuments, including the amphitheatre and the ancient theatre, are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Every summer, the Rencontres de la photographie festival draws an international audience. The Parc des Ateliers, with the LUMA Arles tower designed by Frank Gehry, has brought the city into contemporary architecture. For a seminar, that is a ready-made programme of visits between two working sessions.
The Camargue offers the opposite: wide open spaces, lagoons, horses and bulls, rice fields and salt marshes. Camargue farmhouses, often surrounded by land, welcome groups for a day or a longer stay.

The incentive day is a great classic: discovering a manade with a breeder, lunch at the farmhouse, free time in Arles, then dinner and a party. For a company, it is a genuine change of scene an hour and a quarter from Marseille.
What precautions should you take for a party in the Camargue?
- Mosquitoes: from June to September, they are very present at nightfall near the wetlands. Choose a venue with an enclosed space or provide repellents and diffusers.
- Electricity: a remote farmhouse does not always have enough power for a dance party. We check beforehand and bring a generator if needed.
- Wind: the Camargue is flat and exposed, and the mistral blows freely. Weighted gazebos and sturdy decoration.
- Distances: between Arles and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer there are nearly 40 km of narrow roads. Work out coach journey times.
When is the best time for an event in Arles?
Spring and early autumn are the most comfortable periods. In summer, the heat is intense and, during the Rencontres de la photographie, accommodation fills up quickly. The ferias bring the city to life, particularly at Easter and in September: a spectacle for some, a constraint on accommodation and traffic for others. Check the calendar before setting the date.
