Before comparing activities, ask yourself a simple question: what needs to happen between your colleagues? Bringing together two departments that never talk, rewarding a team after a big project, welcoming new starters or unlocking creativity before a working seminar do not call for the same format. A competitive activity motivates a sales team, but can make a group that is already under pressure more tense.

Then come three very practical constraints: the number of participants (some activities cap at 30 people, others welcome hundreds), fitness and accessibility (everyone must be able to take part, including someone with reduced mobility or a pregnant colleague), and the season, which matters a great deal in Provence.

Which typically Marseille activities can you offer?

The sea is the city’s other great asset. A sailing taster session from the Old Port (Vieux-Port) or Pointe-Rouge forces each crew to coordinate. 1. Announce the activity without giving everything away: specify the dress code, footwear and timing, and keep the content a surprise.
2. Form the teams in advance: mix departments, length of service and sites, rather than letting everyone join their desk neighbours.
3. Give everyone a role: captain, strategist, scribe, photographer. Those who do not want to run must be able to contribute in other ways.
4. Hand the running of the game to a host: a presenter on the microphone keeps up the pace, explains the rules and defuses tensions.
5. Finish with a shared moment: prize-giving, group photo, a drink together. That is where the conversations carry on.
6. Gather feedback: a short questionnaire the next day will tell you whether the goal was met and guide the next edition.
