Why choose Avignon for a conference or seminar?
Avignon is very well connected: Avignon TGV station puts Paris about 2 hrs 40 min away and Lyon about 1 hr, and the A7 links the city to Marseille as well as Lyon. For a national company, it is a convenient meeting point, with heritage that makes an impression on participants: the Palais des Papes, a UNESCO World Heritage site together with the historic centre and the Pont Saint-Bénézet, the ramparts, the narrow streets inside the walls.
The Palais des Papes houses a conference centre: holding a plenary in a medieval monument is something people remember. For more intimate seminars, the surrounding countryside offers farmhouses and wine estates, as far as the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
When is the best time for an event in Avignon?
The golden rule: avoid July. During the Avignon Festival and its fringe festival (the “off”), the city is overrun with theatregoers, hotels are full and traffic inside the walls becomes very difficult. August remains hot and touristy. Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons, with pleasant temperatures for an outdoor cocktail reception until October.

How should you organise participants’ travel?
- Participants arriving by TGV: Avignon TGV station is outside the city; a rail shuttle reaches the city-centre station in a few minutes, or plan a coach to the venue.
- A countryside venue: organise a group transfer from the station, as taxis are scarce when a train arrives.
- A team coming from Marseille: a coach saves each driver a 2 hr 30 min round trip after an evening event.
How do we work in Avignon?
We are a Marseille agency: we do not claim to know every venue in the Vaucluse. So we work closely with the venue you have chosen (technical specifications, set-up times, sound restrictions) and we travel with all our equipment. For a conference, that means a sound system, wireless microphones, screens and a technician at the control desk. For a party, a DJ, a cocktail bar and a photographer. Travel is calculated at €1 per kilometre, return trip; for a late evening, accommodation for the team may need to be planned.
