La Ciotat has a dual identity. It is an industrial town: its former shipyards have been converted to the repair and maintenance of large yachts, an industry that supports many specialist companies. It is also a town of cinema: the Lumière brothers shot one of their first films there, and the Eden Théâtre, on the seafront, is considered one of the oldest cinemas in the world.

How do you get to La Ciotat with a group?
- From Marseille, the A50 gets you there in 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic; a coach saves everyone from driving home after the party.
- The TER station is some way from the centre and the harbour: plan a shuttle for guests arriving by train.
- From the Var, La Ciotat is also reached via the A50: handy for bringing teams from Marseille and Toulon together halfway.
This halfway position is a real plus for companies based on both sides of the departmental boundary: everyone covers part of the journey.

How long does it take to get from Marseille to La Ciotat?
About 40 minutes for 32 km via the A50, longer at rush hour. By train, the Marseille-Toulon TER line serves La Ciotat, but the station is far from the centre.
Can you use pyrotechnic effects by the sea?
We use cold sparks, with no flames, which venues accept more easily. A real firework display requires a licensed pyrotechnician and specific permits.
