How many cocktails should you plan per guest?

For a welcome drink or afterwork drinks lasting two to three hours, allow on average 2 to 3 cocktails per person. A 100 Cocktail Pack therefore suits around forty or fifty guests, provided it is supplemented with wine, beer and soft drinks. For a long evening, the cocktail bar often focuses on the welcome drink and the opening of the dance floor, then gives way to a simpler bar.

For staffing, the rule we apply is one bartender per 50 guests. With fewer, waiting times grow and the bar turns into a queue, which is the opposite of the effect you want.
