The western side of the Étang de Berre is one of France’s major industrial hubs. The Fos-sur-Mer industrial port zone, part of the Port of Marseille, brings together steelmaking, energy, chemicals and port terminals. Istres is home to an air base and to activities linked to aeronautics and flight testing. Miramas and its surroundings concentrate large logistics hubs, where rail and road meet.

How do you organise a works council party for an industrial site?
- Choose the day with the scheduling managers: shift teams are not all available at the same time.
- Book a venue near the site to limit travel, or a venue reachable by coach from Marseille if some employees live there.
- Plan a short official part (speeches, awards), then a real party: dinner, DJ, entertainment.
- Organise return shuttles: it is also a question of safety.
