Company olympics, Koh-Lanta or Fort Boyard: what’s the difference?

All three formats rely on the same mechanics: teams rotate around a series of stations, score points or win objects, then face each other in a final challenge. What changes is the theme and the type of challenges.

Koh-Lanta appeals to teams who love a sense of adventure. Fort Boyard works well with an audience that prefers puzzles to physical effort. The olympic challenges are the sportiest. Kart’on is all about creativity: you build as a team, then you race, and the photos are memorable.

How does an afternoon of company olympics run?

1. Welcome and team building: coloured scarves or bibs, choosing a name and a battle cry.
2. Rotation around the stations: each team takes on every challenge, timed or scored by the hosts.
3. Final challenge: the council around the totem, the treasure cage or the big race, depending on the format chosen.
4. Prize-giving: ranking announced on the microphone, trophy, group photo, then cocktails or aperitif.

How much space do you need?

You need flat, open ground where several stations fit side by side without getting in each other’s way, or a large hall for Fort Boyard and Kart’on. The bigger the group, the more stations you need, and so the more space: we approve the site plan before confirming. The grounds of châteaux and estates around Aix-en-Provence, the Prado beaches or large lawns work well. A gazebo (€150 for 3 × 3 m) serves as a water point, shelter and scoring table all at once.

Which events is it for?

• A seminar in the countryside, alternating with work sessions.
• Team building at the start or end of the academic year.
• An incentive to reward a sales team.
• A works council family day, with challenges adapted for younger children.

For a group that would rather not move around, choose an escape game or giant games, which are more static.

How much do company olympics cost?

The price depends on numbers, the number of stations and hosts, and the venue. ADJM Événementiel prices these games on a quote basis, and adds what makes the difference around them: an MC at €600 to hold the thread and run the prize-giving, a DJ Ambiance from €399 for the aperitif that follows, a cocktail reception to round things off.
